Take time with your kids and explain the scientific answer to the seatbelt question.

All the resources you need are right here.

With this experiment, you will get the experiment instructions & the Scientific Method Lab Sheet to conduct a fun experiment about why seatbelts are so important.  Supplies needed for this experiment are simple and you probably have them around the house. You will need Legos, mini-figs, and rubber bands. That’s it!

Also included is the Scientific Method Lab Sheet with Glossary. This lab sheet is suitable for upper elementary through high school students to use for gathering data on the various lab trials and outcomes.

Teaching students to think critically about science and to capture their ideas and outcomes within a lab sheet is critical to:

  • Promote the development of scientific thinking.
  • Promote discovery in the learning process.
  • Promote Flexible Thinking.

One of the most important aspects of using the scientific method has nothing to do with science but has everything to do with learning perseverance, a strong work ethic, and a spirit of determination.

This is just one of the experiments in the Let’s Study Isaac Newton: A Life of Discovery. It is available as a downloadable unit study.
