Sorrento With Kids
Sorrento is another one of those Italian towns to fall in love with. It’s romantic, has great shopping, and has amazing views of the Amalfi Coast. But what about Sorrento with kids? Is Sorrento a kid-friendly town? Would it make a good home base for seeing southern Italy with kids? Well, let’s break it down.
It’s a hilly, coastal town. That means everyone is going to need decent walking shoes/sandals and possibly a stroller for younger kids. Of course, you could grab a taxi for a few euros at the bottom and be back up the hill in no time! I saw folks without kids, and even locals, doing it all the time.
Love On Your Family
It’s Romantic. Sorrento is such a gorgeous place, it can’t help but be romantic with the sunsets, the ocean view, and the narrow Italian streets. So take the kids for a walk, tell them how great they are, and enjoy the view as a family! Love on your family. It will be a memory maker, I guarantee it!
Gelato & Shopping For The Win!
Sorrento has great shopping (and I mean great). There is the main shopping district with all the ‘mall’ type Italian shops. And then there are the Italian streets full of quaint shops, restaurants and gelato bars. It’s a great place to find the perfect gift or souvenir – especially if you like Limoncello or Italian ceramics.
Perfect Recovery Day
Are your kids anything like mine? Would they rather play in the Mediterranean than shop? Go for it! Splurge and get the fancy chairs with the beach umbrella and spend some time at the beach. It’s only £10 or so and is a perfect solution if you need a recovery day on your trip. Head to the nearest market and buy a few things to eat and head on down to the water for a relaxing time in the sea.
Enjoy Amazing Views
Not gonna lie. The views of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast are breathtaking! Making Sorrento your home base for a few days is a really wise choice if you plan to stay awhile and enjoy the region. There are so many exciting day trips from Sorrento you can do with your family. Here are just a few to consider adding to your itinerary.
