Do Your kids get bored?
Are you fed up with kids getting bored at amazing travel destinations because they did not understand world geography?
Me too. 🙈
I wanted a curriculum that would travel with us and even take us to places that are still on our family travel bucket list.
So, I started creating world geography resources when planning intentional family vacations in Europe and could not find engaging, digital geography curricula for homeschoolers.
I created a homeschool resource with you in mind, Homeschool Ed-venturer.
It contains reading and video resources to help the various learning styles found in homeschool families so that everyone can learn together using the world as their classroom.

“This has been THE MOST fascinating class. Y’all need to sign your kids up. The project our son just turned in brought tears to my eyes. Shannan Swindler is so thoughtful with delivering a love of geography to her students. Thank you for creating a space where learning and creativity meet and produce great family dinner talks.”

My favorite continent was Africa because Africa fascinates me so much I love it, and their culture is head-turning! Also, I think that Africa is easy to study😁. My favorite assignment was Project 2: Environmental/human problems, but the assignment I’m most proud of is Project 1: Place because I put a TON of time into it.

~RA, European Home Educating MomSince we started the Africa geography study from Captivating Compass with my two boys, geography went from being our least favorite topic, to being one of our favorites! Their previous geography book was quite boring, so we didn’t hesitate to change the curriculum in the middle of the year and we are not disappointed!

What mom likes:
- It’s so simple to use! No prep is needed.
- No hundreds of pages to print!
- It’s all planned for you, but still offers some flexibility.
- You can do it together with kids (quite interesting for mom too), but kids can also study the countries by themselves as it’s easy to use.
- The videos to watch and links to read are well chosen.
- I like the approach with the five themes of geography, and can’t wait to start the project ideas.
What kids love:
- Lots of video links to watch (if you can’t go visit the country yourself, at least you can experience it a bit through them).
- It’s interesting because they discover countries of Africa they don’t know at all.
- There is some reading to do but not in an excessive amount
- Journaling pages are helpful and well done and not overwhelming (writing is not their forte) History of the countries along with their geography ( They love history and it brings more details, cool facts or locations on happenings on the history they have been studying)
