Need The Positive Power Of A Homeschool Journey Partnership?
I’ve got you covered! My experience as a homeschool parent educating my children outside the USA and as an online teacher has provided me with a unique perspective on home education and the need for families to partner with us during our homeschool journey. Our family has been homeschooling for 10 years …seven of those whilst living and traveling abroad.
A homeschool partnership is key to preventing burnout during your homeschool journey.
~Shannan Swindler, Home Educator, Online Teacher, Expat Mom
Once we moved and we had to rebuild our homeschool tribe of like-minded home educators, I realized that this group of families was meant to journey together. The recent move to online education due to a ‘pandemic’ highlighted, even more, our need for community. Arise Home Education has become our Homeschool Tribe for the online community, education, and great fun learning. With “Faith, Family & Freedom” as their motto, it could not be a better fit!
Arise Home Education offers a plethora of benefits for your homeschooling journey! Your Jr. High & Sr. High students can join me as we explore the world with World Geography. In all, there are 130+ classes to choose from for students k-12. Adults even enjoy some of the classes that are offered by teachers around the world.

Why You Need A Positive Homeschool Partnership.
The homeschool journey can be a lonely one, full of questions and uncertainty. A homeschool partnership with a homeschool tribe can help you find the answers you need to so many questions.
- Am I doing it “right?”
- Is this really the best choice for my kids?
- Why does this feel so overwhelming!?!
Learning to Pivot during Your Homeschool Journey
I’m so thankful for the internet and our ability to connect! Aren’t you?
If I’ve learned nothing in the last few years it’s that things (both good and bad) can change quickly and learning to pivot (a.k.a. resilience) is a skill that is in high demand and a vital life skill for the next generation of leaders. Learning to pivot without being purely reactive. Learning to respond with thoughtful yet critical questions. Seeking truth (even if it is mindblowing-ly painful). These are the skills that our kids learn from their families and when they partner with like-minded home educators.
The Struggle Is Real, People!
Before homeschooling was legal in North America, many homeschoolers kept to themselves, afraid to create the community they so desperately longed for. It’s hard to imagine there was a time when we couldn’t hop on Facebook or Insta to say, “Hey! I homeschool, too!” We truly stand on the shoulders of those homeschool pioneers.
Let me just say that this fear is still going on in the rest of the world for homeschoolers. The need for community is so great! It is not uncommon for families throughout the UK & Europe where it is legal to homeschool to do any (or all) for the following:
- Stay indoors during traditional school hours to avoid the odd look or questions from strangers.
- Schedule appointments for after-school hours to avoid questions from a medical professional that might lead to some type of home visit to check on the welfare of the children.
- Employ countless other creative ways to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors without the stares and questions of neighbors and strangers.
The Need For A Homeschool Partnership Runs Deep.
While I love that we can make so many new friends and connections online, we’ve uncovered a new problem. Distraction!
And all of this distraction leads to overwhelm and stress.
That’s why I’ve fallen in love with the idea of a homeschool partnership or tribe. A unique online campus community designed to promote learning together. That’s right! we are enjoying an unforgettable Christian Home Education experience with other like-minded home-educating families at Arise Home Education.

So, What Is a Homeschool tribe?
Find your tribe & Create Your Best Homeschool Journey
While an online homeschool tribe is good, meeting in person is even better. You can accommodate the requirement of your state laws by combining the two together. Many homeschool moms (they like to be called home educators) will organize their homeschool day to meet up with others for field trips, to enjoy a fabulous book together, or even end the school-year activities to celebrate the beginning of the summer holidays
Homeschool Journey Must Haves: Co-Ops & Meet-Ups
Often times co-ops will meet regularly throughout the homeschool year and share lesson plans, conduct a science experiment and enjoy the beauty of homeschooling together. The benefits of homeschooling with a tribe are many. It allows for different styles of teaching as well as being able to cater to each child’s learning style. Co-ops can help with a tight budget because homeschool parents share in the teaching and organizing of the day’s activities.
Create the best of both worlds by finding a homeschool tribe to share in the journey with you and participate online in academic classes that will inspire and challenge your kids in a way that best suits your family.
Homeschool Journey Must Haves: Online learning communities
Arise Home Education was designed by a veteran homeschool mom and homeschool mentor to UK home education mums, Emma & Shannan to help you provide a solid education with the flexibility of technology for your homeschool family. Arise Home Education’s online campus community is designed to promote learning together with weekly live sessions with UK tutors who are experts in their field.
