Navigating Change. You can have Excitement & Enthusiasm
Navigating change is inevitable. It will happen & just when you think you’ve made progress, something else changes, doesn’t it? This post, written in the autumn of 2019, takes a look back on how we chose to navigate change. As we press in as a community and world, may it encourages you and give you ideas to help you navigate change when you don’t know what the future will hold.
We were in a tough place back then, between 2008-2012. You can read Wrecked by Thankfulness for the whole story. Clearly, we needed some help navigating change.
It seems so long ago! But we were being drawn and sustained by a God-breathed dream. We needed to be obedient to that calling even if it looked utterly foolish to those around us.
Now nearly 5 years later, we feel the stage is being set for the next step in that dream. I keep saying, “I wonder what God has up those giant sleeves of his?!” As we continue to be obedient, He continues to bring people across our path that are like-minded in passion, yet have gifts so unique and different than ours.
Eager For Change
The future is exciting and a bit scary all at the same time! When I reflect on the amazing women and homeschooling families I have met since starting Captivating Compass, I’m challenged and humbled. My deepest desire is to help others live their God-breathed dreams. To inspire you to step out into the world and discover what it is that you are passionate about and how you can pass that baton to your kids as you homeschool. Sometimes it’s through travel, sometimes it’s through academics. But, it is always God-breathed.
We stepped away from our life in the US and into the unknown. Literally. We moved with 8 suitcases and 8 carry-ons. We lived with my husband’s boss for 3 weeks until we found our own flat and then we moved 3 times in 18 months until we finally settled into the perfect place for us.
The Excitement of Change
All the while, it began feeling like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. God-breathed, yes… but wild nonetheless. Looking back I wouldn’t change it (well, maybe a few bits!) because it all was the foundation that was needed to build on to get us where we are today. The journey of combining intentional family travel and home education had begun.
Enthusiasm For The Future
Anticipating change! Coming face to face with the unknown and stepping into that God-breathed dream. It is exhilarating! Knowing how to dovetail your homeschool and travel goals into one is often challenging too. This online course pulls the pieces together and helps you do both…affordably.
